Class Experience

Students will learn how to draw Manga/Anime bodies. Beginning from the first session is not necessary, so as to accommodate newcomers. If students are not checking with me for edits, they may not like their final results. Age 9 is the bare minimum, results may vary, students at this age should definitely check in for help.

We will have a great time chatting about anime, and upping our character design skills! face and eye practice will be available to newcomers!

Front view will be done to review for newcomers. We will do different poses, characters from different shows, and learn how to make our own OC's

Session 1: Front view woman
Session 2: Front view man
Session 3: Turned
Session 4: Side view

**** PLEASE make sure your child is checking in with me and showing their work, if there is any unhappiness with final results it may be because they did not get the help I could have given them.

**** With added time, I will check in with students for edits, added features, or show one or two 3 min anime clips for students who are looking for a new show or movie to watch. We will also discuss the artistic elements presented in the show. All suggestions are age appropriate.

**** If the session is missed, I can only offer a transfer to a section that has students registered, a section date much later that is already available, or you can view the recording if available.

Please, tell me if I am going too fast, I will ask in session as well.

Please note, I will use Photoshop to show examples, and draw digitally. Students MAY use any digital drawing app as long as they are experienced. Please, no phones for drawing. Paper and pencil work just as well.

Talk is welcome! but please stay muted if you prefer a quiet session
Learning Goals
Students will develop their independent design skills with their own activities and learn new drawing techniques

Parental Guidance
Please join the intermediate, beginners class, or intro class if the content is too difficult so we can review the basics. The beginner's class is the slowest. Please, make sure your child was getting edits throughout the session if they felt the session was too hard, or don't like their work. If your child is muted and not asking for help, the class can't move at a pace that will be the most successful for them. Private tutoring is available at my tutoring rate. Please contact me for more information. If you prefer I draw with a pencil, this can occur in the tutoring sessions. Please, no students 8 or below unless they have already taken my intermediate/advanced class, or can show me they are advanced with a picture sample. If looking to learn about something in particular, please message me with expectations. Students, have asked for more time spent on backgrounds, action lines, etc it helps to know what students are looking for. I am open to character requests, please keep in mind I might need a week to learn to draw the character
Supply List
Students should have at least two papers, pencils, erasers, small and large erasers, and sharpener.

Drawing apps like Krita and Ibis are ok, please have experience so as to not slow down your classmates. Recording is available upon request.

Hi, my name is Lori Esposito, I graduated from the School of Visual Arts and earned my BA in Cartooning. Additionally, I am a M.A. certified school counselor and ready to adapt to all learning needs! I teach art and socio-emotional development with children of all ages. I have tutored and taught groups of children ages Pk-8 for six years. I have 30 graduate art education credits at Brooklyn College and open to giving critique to students who need it, as well as portfolio help.

It is important to me to get feedback from children and parents because there is always room for improvement. I value the ideas children have and I always seek to give them the comfort and confidence they need to be independent.

I love painting, drawing, comics, clay art, visiting museums, gardening, cooking, and reading. I thank all the parents who take my classes for trusting me with your children!
