This show & tell club is a playful introduction to observational drawing for young children using their own toys as models. Learners bring a different kind of toy every week and learn to observe and draw its unique features. Each club begins with the show and tell portion in which learners are invited to show their toy and share what they like about it. The second portion of the club is dedicated to drawing the toy through exercises, games and playful scenarios. We will be drawing a different kind of toy each week. Please refer to this list to bring the right kind of toy to the club. Bring only one toy to each club. Session 1 Stuffed Animals Session 2 Cars, Trucks and Trains Session 3 Figurines, Action Figures, Plastic Animals Session 4 Building Blocks. Mega Blocks, Wood Blocks etc. Session 5 Your Favorite Toy! Any kind, any shape, any size! After Class: I encourage learners to draw at their own paste. They can add final touches and colours to their drawings after class if they wish to do so. They will also be invited to share a picture of their drawing on the classroom page as an option. Class Values: In my drawing classes, I value the process of drawing as much as the end result. I do not give step-by-step how to draw instructions as I encourage learners to use observation and imagination to create their own version of the drawing activity. I like creating a positive environment focusing on the enjoyment of creating, learning and drawing.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a visual artist from Canada, and I am passionate about drawing. I am inspired by kid's imaginations and want to help them express their own ideas by giving them a context, tools and techniques to do so. In my classes, I value the experience of creating, drawing and playing as much as the end result. I use sensory activities, games and interactions that help develop the learner's creativity and drawing skills.
I've been teaching art for over 10 years, working with diverse populations and contexts. I have taught and facilitated art workshops with teenagers, individuals dealing with issues related to mental health and homelessness, families in art museums as well as children in summer camps. I have a bachelor's degree in design art, and a graduate certificate in contemporary art practices where I focused my work on drawing.
Please reach out if you have any questions about my classes or schedule. I look forward to seeing you in the classroom!
