In this on-going course based off of suggestions from students we learn step by step how to draw popular Anime characters, which will lead students to create their own anime/manga style based characters.

In the class we have intermittent "Sketch checks" where each student progress is observed and guided during each class. As well as homework critiques at the beginning of every class.Class Experience
In this class we take suggestions from the students of their favorite characters from manga and anime and in a step by step process, we learn the building blocks of what it takes to deliver a final render using paper pencil, ink and color pencils. As we welcome new students, there's a steady introduction of the world of drawing and Anime, followed by an assessment of every students skill level. Every class will cover the course work of traditional drawing, value, shapes, figure drawing, proportions, and color theory. Every week after that will be devoted to picking one student chosen by lottery to make the pick of their favorite anime character that is appropriate for class. We spend the hours of that week rendering that character. Week after week based off of the consistent group of students, the challenge of the anime spotlights of the week will increase, which means dynamic poses, character interactions, etc.
Learning Goals
Students will develop their knowledge about rendering character construction in a step by step process that includes figure drawing, basic anatomy, dynamic posing, cel shading, detailing, and reaching one to one likeness in your artwork. Shapening skills like these enable anyone to be able to draw anything.

This is safe class that is focused on the development of young artists. This class only uses material that is age appropriate.
