I believe in combining multiple subjects to make learning fun and engaging. We will combine art, geography, science and handwriting to learn about animals of the world. In this course, each week students will learn: - Interesting & fun facts about an animal. -Where the animal lives. We will locate it on the map and identify on which continent it lives. - How to draw the animal. - How to draw the background. - Construct & write sentences about the animal. During our writing we will focus on proper handwriting and letter formation. We will be using print handwriting during these lessons. - Color the drawing using color pencils. We will visit all areas of the world drawing, writing & learning about the animals. We we will explore and learn about (in no particular order): - Animals of the Down Under - Animals of the Mountains & Deserts - Animals of the Tropical Forests - Animals of the Savanna - Animals of the Northern Forest - Animals of the Arctic Some examples of animals we will be drawing and learning about are: elephants, tigers, sloths, bears, giraffes, thorny lizard, penguins, butterflies and so many more. ***Please note that I do offer these as separate courses. If you have taken one of my other Draw, Write & Learn courses the same animals will be taught in this ongoing course. If you prefer to pay for a weekly class over a multi-day class then this is the class for you.*** No prior knowledge is necessary for this course. You may subscribe or unsubscribe to lessons at any time. For each class please bring the following: 1. Print the digital file that will be sent after enrollment. There are 3 paper options, please choose the one that best fits your students comfort for handwriting. 2. For each session please print one framed blank page for our drawing PLUS the preferred writing page for your learner. I recommend printing 2 pages per class in the event your learner needs an extra page. If it's not used it can be saved for the following class. 3. Pencil 4. Eraser 5. Black felt tip marker (fine tip sharpie would be best) 6. Color Pencils (I recommend color pencils for these projects so we can color in more detail). ***Please have all pencils and color pencils sharpened prior to class.*** ***Please note I will be starting class right on time as we have a lot to cover in class. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, my name is Sabrina Lagace. Teaching is my passion! I began my teaching career in 2006 and fell in love with teaching children to learn.
I was born and raised in Georgia and in 2002 I moved to sunny Florida where I met and married my husband. We have two amazing children whom I have homeschooled since 2012.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Business Administration.
I am a licensed teacher in the state of Florida in Elementary Education K-6 and TESOL licensed (Teaching English Speakers of Other Languages).
Since 2018 I have been teaching online ESL (English Speakers of Other Languages) to students ages 4-12, where I specialize in teaching phonics classes to young children.
I am actively involved in our homeschool community and I regularly teach history and science in our homeschool co-op.
I believe in making learning fun! I love making interactive and engaging lessons. I believe children learn best when all the senses are involved. I myself am a very visual and kinesthetic (hands-on) learner so I understand children who need multi-sensory learning. I have experience teaching the Orton-Gillingham methods in reading and spelling.
Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my family, camping (more like glam-ping LOL in our camper) and crafting. My daughter and I enjoy crafting for her American Girl dolls. One of my favorite places to visit is Disney World!
I can’t wait to see you in class!
