Do you want to practice making your sketches look more three-dimensional? Learn how shading works? Use linear perspective to create depth and distance? Let's draw together! Each week, students will follow along with a demonstration on how to draw a new object, building, or place. We'll use reference photos to guide our sketches, and practice skills such as: drawing from observation, creating three-dimensional forms, shading, and linear perspective. My goal is not only to teach students how to draw a particular object, but to help them practice skills that will empower them to draw anything they want! Lessons are interactive and I welcome student participation! Students are also invited to suggest things they would like to draw in upcoming lessons, and encouraged to infuse their drawings with their own imaginative and creative details. Each month, we'll draw small objects, large objects, vehicles, buildings, and structures-- here's what's coming up next: ************************************************************ Dec. 5-9: Snow globe (with snowman)! Dec. 12-16: Pine tree with snow! (could be a Christmas tree?!) Dec. 19-23: Snowy winter cabin! Dec. 24-Jan. 3: NO CLASS!!! I taught art in public schools for 15 years before coming to Outschool! Many of my students were beginner artists, and it was always my goal to make them feel more comfortable drawing during the year(s) they were in my class. I make my demonstrations easy for kids to follow (and easy to branch out from!), so we can build their confidence as well as their skills. The goal of this class, like my other "Draw Together" classes, is to prepare my students to draw anything they want!
