Class Experience
Students will practice drawing animals, using their skills of observation, and creating backgrounds that illustrate depth (three-dimensional space). We will build skills needed to draw realistically using reference images.
I have taught drawing for many years, and in my observation the most effective way to teach good drawing skills is to demonstrate them! Drawing together with my students is a great way to illustrate drawing techniques while also helping them to build the critical thinking and observational skills they need to continue working on their own. My goal is to build my students' skills and confidence as young artists!
1 file available upon enrollmentAn image will be provided for students for each week's drawing. This image will be viewed on screen during class. Students will need the following materials each week: Drawing paper (sketchbooks may be purchased from a variety of retailers for ~$10) Pencil & eraser (block eraser preferred) **Optional materials (these are entirely dependent on your student's preference, and are not required): - Colored pencils - Crayons - Markers - Other media of your choice!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
