Beginner Level
Interested in learning to sketch figures in natural poses, with realistic proportions? In this course we'll learn face and figure proportions, and use "gesture drawing" to create more lifelike drawings through this course. Here are the techniques that we'll practice together: Lesson 1: Proportions of the human figure Lesson 2: Proportions of the human face + drawing hair Lesson 3: Gesture drawing (sketching from observation, creating different poses) Lesson 4: Gesture drawing + clothing + shading Each lesson video provides step-by-step drawing demonstrations, and I'll provide guidance and feedback for all submitted assignments. My goal is for you to feel more confident drawing people on your own! Lessons run approximately 60 minutes total, broken into several shorter videos (15-35 minutes each). Students who turn in sketches for each lesson will be provided with a certificate of completion at the end of the course! ********************************** Interested in more classes from Ms. Kristy? Figure drawing is my favorite art discipline! I have years of experience creating my own drawings and sculptures, using the human form as inspiration, and I always brought my enjoyment and expertise to my students when we created figurative artworks. I have taught figure drawing to elementary, junior high, and high school age students for over a decade, and look forward to meeting more young artists who want to learn this skill!
