In this workshop, students learn about simple machines and game concepts, then apply their imagination to build their own cardboard game creations. You don’t need any prior knowledge or crafting experience to join this workshop. This live lesson will be a step by step demonstration to bring your ideas to life. They will create 2D blueprint designs of their pinball machine before building their 3D game out of cardboard. At the end of the workshop, the group shares their inspiration, what they made, and demonstrates how they embellished their pinball machine. The teacher will also be able to answer any questions that might arise during the class.
Learning Goals
The students will learn about engineering and gaming concepts to build their creations. They will do project planning that incorporates game mechanics by drawing and rendering. The student will be working in 2-D as well as 3-D with their creations.Other Details
Parental Guidance
Parents might need to supervise if there is any difficulties with the building process for safety and support.
Supply List
1-2 bamboo skewers cardboard: corrugated cardboard box, cereal, and pasta boxes work great as well 4-6 bottle caps 1 marble markers or coloring items masking tape Craft glue: Elmer’s will work scissors 12" Ruler 1-3 sheets of printer paper 1 shoebox (optional)
