What will be taught?

-You'll be taught how to write cursive letters in a style you prefer and enjoy.
-We'll cover the basics of cursive rules, and I'll show you tricks to keep your writing neat with minimal effort.
-Also, you'll get more and more familiar with reading a cursive formation guide and completing writing challenges independently!

What topics will I cover?

-The topic of this class is cursive writing, and I'll teach you how to write in accordance with a formation guide.
-You'll spend more of the class writing, assessing your writing, or self-correcting.
-You can get creative in how you accomplish the cursive games and challenges I give you. For example, if I ask you to write your favorite color in cursive, you can write "rainbow" if you'd like!

How is my class structured?

-First thing, I'll ask you if you did any work outside class, or if you completed the homework.
-If you worked on cursive outside class, I'll ask you to show it to me!
-If you made any mistakes, I'll help you fix them.
-Once that's done, we'll continue with writing challenges, which will get more and more fun, and more and more difficult as we go along. You certainly won't be bored! If you need help at any time, I'm always here to help.

How will I teach?

-I'll teach you first by using a whiteboard, and you can follow along writing with me.
-Afterwards, I'll get you more and more comfortable with using a formation guide instead of relying on my help. This sets you up to use cursive independently.
-When we play cursive games or challenges and you make a mistake, we'll circle it, write it correctly together, then mark the correct writing with a checkmark in your notes. Usually, I'll ask you to practice that as homework.

What's my teaching style?

-I'm fairly goofy, fun, and upbeat.
-My classes can be very fast-paced, but if you feel overwhelmed or would like me to repeat something, all you need to do is ask and I'll work with you.
-I do my best to make cursive fun and am honest about the difficulties that go along with it.

How much will learners get to interact with me and each other?

-This class isn't tech-heavy at all. I teach using a whiteboard and provide a cursive formation guide for students when needed.
-Materials students need for every class are their previous homework and notes, as well as a pen or pencil and lined paper.
-My maximum class size is two, and as long as everyone focuses on the class material and pays attention, you're welcome to get chatty!

Any required experience or knowledge learners need?

-Because this is a practice class, I strongly suggest any of my other classes that meet twice, or more often before enrolling in this one, unless this class is private.

I've taught my own original curriculum at a high-end private training school for six years, and now I'm working independently to offer my courses online! I have an Honors Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and am TESOL Certified.

I value students learning by having fun and connecting to stories both academically and through life experience. I'm also a lover of debates! I believe in encouraging students to hone their existing strengths and interests to thrive in an academic environment.

I've taught everything from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to 1984, but my ultimate favorite to teach is anything Harry Potter! Critical thinking is also another one of my favorite things to teach.
