This class will be offered over the course of 2 days during the same week. The class will follow a circle time format in 2 shorter segments so the children stay engaged and interested in the topic. The main theme of the circle will be Curious George. In the first class, each child will get to say what they love about Curious George then we will will read a short Curious George book. The book being read discusses hibernation so this will be briefly addressed in the first class. In the second class, we will review the book and talk about hibernation by playing an activity. We will also sing a monkey song and the class will conclude with each child sharing a Curious George or monkey-themed item with the class. I am a patient, calm, and animated teacher. I keep children involved by singing songs and moving from one section of the class to the next with limited wait time. The learners will be able to interact by joining along in the song, answering questions during the book reading, participating in the activity, and having a discussion about hibernation. No experience or knowledge is needed in advance of taking this course.
Learning Goals
The children will learn literacy skills while listening and participating in the read-aloud. They will also learn basic information about hibernation. All of my classes focus on communication skills by giving children the chance to interact with each other and me.Other Details

Hello!
I've been teaching young children for the past 16 years and have experience teaching preschool children of all developmental levels. I have my Masters in Child & Family Studies and my Birth to Kindergarten (BK) License.
I taught for about a year and a half on Outschool during COVID but then returned to a full time job in the public schools and didn’t have time to do both. I’m really excited to start teaching on Outschool again.
I focus heavily on social/emotional learning along with literacy and pre-academic skills. I enjoy using songs, books, activities, and group discussions to teach a variety of skills.
I live in Washington state and am a big fan of the Seattle Seahawks! I have a 11-year old son and a 3-year old golden/lab mix dog.
