Class Experience

US Grade Preschool
Beginner Level
Each morning your child can join me in my virtual classroom for morning circle just like in my traditional classroom. As an Early Childhood Educator I know the importance of immersing young people in lots of language opportunities. In my circle time your learner will sing a morning song to warm up and develop fluency. We will then go around the circle and introduce ourselves and welcome each other to circle. Following we will sing months of the year, days of the week and begin our calendar time. During calendar time we identify the month, day of week and count to help build awareness of calendar. This will be our daily routine. After calendar time, I will introduce our theme of the day. Show and tell time will begin after this. Show and tell can be about the theme of the day or something special your child would like to share. I will choose a good listener to begin. After show and tell we will sing a theme related song if applicable to work on fluency or recognition. I will then share my show and tell items as a guessing game with help of my puppet Lily. Students are then encouraged to draw with me. I usually upload a color sheet or they can draw on their sketch pads or paper. I end the class with a story as the students finish their pictures and we say our goodbyes for the day. The pictures and things discussed in class are great ways for your child to express themselves-creatively and verbally with conversation starters. I also encourage them to find other things in their home or outside about what was discussed during class. (Can you find a colorful leaf? Can you make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch time?)

Hello!
My name is Amy Woldt. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Education with a Major in Early Childhood with certification in ESL and Gifted and Talented. I have taught kindergarten and preschoolers for 29 years. During this time I worked with different kind of learners. I have created scaffolded lessons to meet the needs of all my learners, since we all learn differently. With my ESL and Early Childhood expertise, I was lead to teach on another platform teaching English 2018-present to young students. I enjoyed teaching on this type of platform and decided to join the Outschool platform in the Spring of 2020 after retiring from public education. I also tutor reading to two elementary students in person after school.
I am a mom to two boys 19 and 26 and a twelve year old pug, who thinks he's human.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy traveling, watching movies and swimming with my husband.

I believe that all students can learn under the right guidance, structure and creative learning activities. I hope to see your student in my classroom soon.
