Summer Circle Time is a great chance for first and second graders to socialize and keep their reading and math skills sharp over the summer! With 5 weeks of fun summer topics, we connect with each other and and practice skills.

Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 2
This small- group class, led by a certified teacher, is a great learning and social time for your First Grade and Second Grade learners. We discuss our experiences with fun summer topics such as water and  camping.  We practice language arts and math in fun, interactive ways and keep our calendar and observation skills sharp as well.  We connect to the learning through participation and inclusion of everyone in circle time. Come join me for fun learning in a caring atmosphere!  

**Week 1:  June 9-16
"Fun With Water"- Read about and discuss water related activities and the water cycle. Water related math story. 

**Week 2:  June 16-22
"Let's go camping"- Read about and discuss camping at home or elsewhere. Camping related math story. 

**Week 3: June 23-29
No classes

**Week 4: June 30- July 6
"What do they mean?"- Read about and discuss American symbols-American flag, Eagle, Liberty Bell, and Statue of Liberty. Learn to draw a bald eagle.

** Week 5: July 7-July 13
"Keep on growing"- Read about and discuss plants and the plant cycle. Read "Jack and The Beanstalk". Gardening related math story. 

** Week 6 July 14-20
"Let's see America" Read about some interesting places to see in America. Pack a suitcase for a trip. Transportation word puzzles.  Travel related math story

Hello, I'm Ms. Heather!  I live near the mountains in Idaho and I love reading, gardening, and  hiking. But most of all, I love teaching and helping learners grow their skills and confidence!

* Just For You K-3rd Reading Tutoring - One-on-one class for growing readers   (Ongoing- choose 1× or 2× a week)
* Just For You ESL - One-on-one class for English language learners. (Ongoing - choose 1× or 2× a week).
*Kindergarten Check In- 1:1 practice of Letters/ Phonics/ Writing learners first name (one time class).
* Kindergarten Learning Circle - Fun reading, math and social time (offered as both a one-time class and a 1×week ongoing class). I teach 1-2 new letters/sounds each week in both formats.* I Love Math! - Small group class ( 1-4 learners) -ongoing 1x per week class to practice kindergarten number sense, number writing,  2D and 3Dshapes, addition, subtraction, and much more.
