Class Experience

In this class, students will be creating their own apple tree art using cotton balls, paint and construction paper. Now let's get crafting!

We will start by gluing our cotton balls to the background piece of paper. Then we will paint our cotton balls. Lastly, we will cut and glue our clouds and sun to our background. Class will end with students taking turns sharing their new work of art, if they are comfortable doing so.

Supplies:
Construction paper (I used blue, yellow, and white)
Cotton balls
Glue stick
Tempera paint
Paint brush (a large round brush may make painting easier)
Scissors
Round object to trace for the sun

Parental Guidance

This class requires the use of scissors. Parental supervision is recommended. Assistance may also be needed.

I have found that student led learning has been more beneficial and more enjoyable than other methods I have tried. When children are given the opportunity to do the things they're interested in, the more they want to learn and the more they enjoy the process. It's an exciting method of learning!
