Students will be given feedback on their pieces/cases.Class Experience
This class is for those students that I coach or those students looking to run a practice round before competition. I normally tutor individuals, but a need arose to have group classes due to some events having more than one student, or some students wanting to run practice rounds. This class was created with those students in mind. If you want to run a current topic Public Forum or Lincoln Douglas round, please make sure you have someone sign up to compete with. I do not provide partners at this time. The goal of the class is to give feedback on your rounds and of course to have fun while learning and practicing with others. My students have gone on to have national bids and have won numerous awards and accolades. Just for disclosure/conflict, I currently also coach and teach with Potomac Debate. Some events that I work with include: Lincoln Douglas Debate Policy Debate Just Talk Informative Speaking Student Congress Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking International Extemporaneous Speaking Mixed Extemporaneous Speaking Public Forum Standard Oratory Original Oratory Monologue Dramatic Interpretation Humorous Interpretation Duos Poetry (MS) Prose (MS) Introduction to Speech and Debate Skills Public Speaking

Teacher expertise and credentials
Doctoral Degree from State University of Buffalo School of Law
I am a semi-retired Professor and High School teacher. I am also as of last year, a retired attorney in New York State. I taught Speech and Debate for many years (over 17) at the Middle and High School Level. I was an award-winning coach at the State level. My students also competed at the National Level. My students have won prestigious competitions such as Harvard and TOC. Several received scholarships to college based on their speech and debate accomplishments. I have also taught Advanced Placement US Government, Advanced Placement Comparative Government and traditional High School Government, US History and Economics for over the years. I know it is important to introduce a fact based, non-biased lesson to students that will foster discussions with their family. For twenty years I have had the opportunity to work with students from Pre-K through Graduate School in both a traditional learning atmosphere and those classes that deviate from neurotypical teaching. I held my teaching certification in World History/US History/Government and Economics for Middle and High School. My teaching philosophy is that all students are individuals and unique learners that must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. I will provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and where mistakes are considered education victories.
