Beginner Level
The CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) is a test for K-12 students intended to estimate students' learned reasoning and problem-solving abilities through a battery of verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal test items. At the upper level, the CogAT utilizes numbers, shapes, and figures to evaluate students' verbal, quantitative, and non-verbal abilities. The test is broken up into the aforementioned 3 categories, and each category has 3 subtests. In this class, students will preview and solve sample questions in order to become familiar with the patterns, questions, etc. Week 1 | Verbal Practice Problems | Review problems in this section, such as verbal classification, sentence completion, and analogies. Week 2 | Qualitative Practice Problems | Review problems in this section, such as number series, number analogies, and number puzzles Week 3 | Non-Verbal Practice Problems | Review problems in this section, such as figure analogies, figure classification, and figure matrices.
