US Grade 4 - 7
Beginner - Intermediate Level
This class is a great introduction or review of all pre-algebra topics. Learners will cover over 12 topics in 3 units related to integers, absolute value, integer operations, comparing integers, exponents, and square roots. There is at least one new topic introduced each week. After completing the lesson, students will complete practice questions in Jamboard, Google Forms, and Google Slides. There will also be question/answer discussions so that students can share their knowledge for a better understanding of the topic. As students complete and post their work, the teacher will supply feedback within 24-28 hours, so that the student receives timely feedback. This is a truly comprehensive course covering multiple pre-algebra topics needed to ensure success in future math classes. This self-paced class allows students to work at their comfort level. There is no pre-requisite knowledge required and the classes do not build on each other. The course is broken into parts so that students find the material manageable. It will take approximately 1-3 hours to complete each lesson.
Learning Goals
The student will be able to work with integers, absolute values, exponents, and square roots.

Virginia Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hello! My name is Ms. Ann and I have been a teacher for over a decade in the beautiful state of VA. I have taught several grades in both Elementary and Middle School. I love to teach. I think the best part of teaching is sharing my knowledge in a variety of subjects and helping students make connections to previous experiences or existing background knowledge.
I am a certified teacher in all core subjects: math, history, science, and language arts (grades K-8 and gifted education). I believe that successful teaching includes building relationships, interest, and engagement with students. When students are interested in the topic, they are more willing to participate, ask questions, and ultimately master the content.
I hope to see you in class soon!
