Have you ever wished to have an audience listen to a presentation of something you've worked hard to research? Maybe you have some fresh/clean jokes to tell, a commercial you'd like to present, or a fascinating story to share. Maybe you'd prefer to hang out and participate in some impromptu speaking challenges! This clubs is for you. This class is offered on an ongoing basis as a public speaking club. If you are not interested in an ongoing club, please view my Chatterboxes classes that are one-time payment options. We will begin each club time with the focus of a public speaking skill using a speaking game. This will also help to break the ice as we become comfortable with one another. Throughout the weeks, skills may include eye contact, tone, eliminating filler words, expression, and more! Each week students have the chance to present a prepared speech, routine, or other presentation to the class audience. Students will have a quick 1-2 minute time slot they may choose to fill with one prepared presentation if desired. Imagination is encouraged! After the warm-up and prepared presentations, students will participate in 30-60 second impromptu speeches of various topics and types. Focus spans informative, persuasive, and entertaining presentation styles. We will continually rotate through 3 different themes as shown below, but classes will hold various activities related to the theme each week: Week of February 20: Speaking to Inform Week of February 27: Speaking to Persuade Week of March 6: Speaking to Entertain Week of March 13: Speaking to Inform Week of March 20: Speaking to Persuade Week of March 27: Speaking to Entertain This is a great way to expose your student to many different types of impromptu presentations within a group of peers.
