Class Experience
In this ongoing private class, learners will gain an understanding of impromptu speaking and will practice their public speaking skills with their own speeches and presentations each week. ESL friendly. Being a successful public speaker requires children to draw on their own experiences of life, their beliefs and their own understanding of the world. Bringing this together in planning, writing and speaking gives them an opportunity to express their opinions. Public speaking is also a social activity. It reinforces the child’s confidence and promotes personal development. Children learn to perceive people, their behaviour and their reaction to what is being said. Each week will follow a different theme and the class will work to help learners develop their ideas, organise them and deliver an effective speech. Each class will also cover an important aspect of public speaking, such as making eye contact or supporting your ideas with evidence. In this class, you can work on some of the following topics with your teacher. - How was language created? - Dinosaurs - Fishing - Age Restrictions - Pollution - Bullying - Schoolwork/Homework - Stereotypes - Sports - What would happen if.... - Jokes - Being Happy - Being Invisible - Knowing Everything Or Nothing - Getting Older - Urban vs Rural - Intelligence - Nutrition - Fast Food - Medicine - Video Games - Population - Poverty and Health - Obesity - Hacking - Global Warming - Life in Space - Is College Essential? - Veganism - Cloning: Is It Ethical? - Intelligence: Learned or inherited? - Modern Medicine vs Traditional Medicine - Time: What is it? Come to class prepared with your notebook and pens and ready to share your ideas! We look forward to being part of your learning journey!
