We’re going to read Charlotte’s Web together, and while we do so, we’ll be focusing on grammar and reading comprehension skills. I’ll guide you on how to identify the different parts of speech, like nouns, pronouns, adjectives, and verbs, and how to use them correctly. We’ll also cover sequencing, plot, character analysis, hyperbole, compare/contrast, and how to identify and understand homophones, synonyms, and antonyms. This will mostly be a read on your own class with a bit of class read aloud interspersed. Discussions will revolve around what we read and the grammar and reading comprehension exercises we’ll do. Our goal is to improve comprehension & grammar skills.

Hello,
 I am so excited to meet and teach your child(ren). I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Westminster College, and I am also certified to teach English as a second or other language. I taught 5th graders all core subjects for six years in Orlando, Florida, and students in K–12 grades for over 20 years. I have also homeschooled my own children and others for the past 16 years, and I have led after-school reading and math groups for students of all levels.  I currently teach and tutor students on multiple online platforms in all subject areas, K–8.
