Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this decimal centered class, we will utilize hands on practice with learner and teacher led discussions on what decimals are, and how we use different operations to solve problems. In addition to adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals, we will also discuss how decimals are used in everyday life situations. Classes will consist of hands-on practice and have ample time for learner questions and discussion. I also utilize Nearpod and Khan materials at times.
Learning Goals
Students will gain the skills required to solve decimals problems using various operations. They will also be able to verbalize and identify names of the decimal place value positions.

Hello,
I am so excited to meet and teach your child(ren)! I have a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Westminster College, and I am also certified to teach English as a second or other language. I taught 5th graders for 6 years in Orlando, Florida and have taught students in K-12 and college for the last 20 years. I have homeschooled my own children and others for the past 16 years, and have led after-school reading and math groups for all levels of students. I currently teach & tutor students on multiple online platforms, in all subject areas K-12.
I have a husband, 2 children, too many fish to count and 2 dogs! It’s a lot, I know. :) Outside of the classroom I enjoy hiking, skiing, kayaking, biking, traveling, rafting and riding all terrain vehicles with my family.
Right now I am offering private tutoring for students in PreK - 6th grade in all core subject areas. I can cater our sessions to meet the current needs of your child by assessing grade level needs, specific content and/or homework, whatever your child needs help with.
My goal is to make learning enjoyable as well as educational while meeting the individual needs of my students. I hope to see you soon!
