-OVERVIEW- To maintain a financially healthy business it is essential for entrepreneurs to possess a strong understanding of gross revenue and gross profit. In this class, students will evaluate the gross revenue and gross profit of Paws & Tails, a fictional dog walking company that is in financial trouble. The owner of Paws & Tails has just received terrible news from her accountant. The company did not make any money last month! How is this possible when Paws & Tails earned $500 in sales last month? Using the knowledge they gain in class, students will work together to solve this mystery and save Paws & Tails from financial ruin. This class combines business, mystery, math, and teamwork to create a fun and unique learning experience. -CLASS STRUCTURE- The class is divided into three parts. The first part introduces the class to the dilemma, the second part focuses on the core concepts surrounding revenue and profit, and the third part is where the students use what they have learned to help Paw & Tails get out of financial trouble.
