Students can choose what they want to do. -Students are strongly encouraged to download the interactive "My Lemonade Day" app. This allows students to earn badges and enter local and national contests where they are able to win prizes. In addition, this app will be used to supplement our class discussions. -Suggested tasks will be posted in the classroom following each class. -Students will experiment with creating a tasty lemonade flavor. -Students will create their own marketing materials and will have to design their own lemonade stand.Assessment
No formal assessment will be provided. Students can enter the results from their lemonade stand into the My Lemonade Day app.Class Experience
🍋OVERVIEW In this business class, budding entrepreneurs will turn their passion for business into profit. Students will let their creative juices flow while adding their own unique flavor to their lemonade stand business. In addition to lemonade, students are able to sell other items that interest them at their stands (ex. cookies, art, jewelry, cosmetics, etc). During class, they will be introduced to fundamental business principles and concepts that will expand and deepen their understanding of entrepreneurship. They will use their creativity, natural instincts, and the information they learn from class to bring their lemonade stand business to life. Starting a business is a great way for children to increase confidence and self esteem while growing social skills. Overall, this class will ignite their love for business, while helping them develop an entrepreneurship mindset. The memories they create from this experience will last a lifetime. 🍋CLASS STRUCTURE This 4-class series is designed to be completed within one week. Classes meet consectively for four days. 🍓DAY ONE: "The Key Ingredients" - Students will be introduced to important business terms and concepts, set goals, and start their business plan. Some topics discussed include: -What is entrepreneurship -Qualities of an entrepreneur -Why is goal setting important -What is a business plan -Elements of a business plan -Charitable giving 🍓DAY TWO: "Marketing & Branding" - Students will be introduced to important business terms and concepts relating to marketing, branding and advertising. Some topics discussed include: -Creating a tasty lemonade recipe (product development) -Safety and Sanitation -Defining your niche -What is marketing -What is branding -Choosing your location -Setting your price -Designing your lemonade stand -Creating effective signage and displays -Leveraging social media 🍓DAY THREE: "Financials" - Students will be introduced to important business terms and concepts relating to the financial side of running a business. Some topics discussed include: -Identifying expenses -Figuring out start up costs -Creating a budget -Calculating sales and profit -What is an investor -Pros and cons of a loan 🍓DAY FOUR: "Launch" - Students will make final preparations for their Lemonade Day. If they choose, they can role play customer service scenarios as well as practice their 20 second pitches. Final topics discussed include: -Sales strategies -Customer service -Dealing with rejections -Personal safety -Reporting results and entering contests -Reflective journaling 🍋Students are strongly encouraged to download the interactive "My Lemonade Day" app. This app allows students to earn badges and enter local and national contests where they can win prizes. In addition, this app will be used to supplement our class discussions. 🍋MY TEACHING STYLE -I like to tease the imagination of students by presenting information in unique and unconventional ways. Specifically, I incorporate elements of play, discovery, and adventure into my classes. -My classes are structured to allow for student interaction. I also encourage students to interact with each other. -My teaching methods are very deliberate and intentional. To capture the attention of my students, I design eye-catching and vibrant digital slide shows. -My goal is to create captivating and unique learning experiences. 🍋COMMUNICATION -I communicate with all students at some point during the class. Conversely, students are able to communicate with me simply by showing “happy” fingers or by sending a message through the chat box. -I am extremely attentive to students while teaching. I provide friendly and timely communication and feedback to both parents and students. 🍋ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -This class will appeal to learners who are interested in business or entrepreneurship. -No previous business knowledge is required. -It is helpful if students possess a basic knowledge of adding, subtracting, and multiplication -Learners should bring a calculator, notebook, and pen/pencil to class.

I am passionate, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about entrepreneurship, business, and interior design. I offer engaging and relevant classes that cater to these learning interests.
I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Administration from John Carroll University. The skills and knowledge I gained have contributed favorably to my entrepreneurial and teaching endeavors.
Currently, I own an interior design business that I have been operating since 2015. To date, I have designed over 100 spaces. As a business owner, I have learned to overcome obstacles, take risks, and utilize creativity. Consequently, I have gained a wealth of knowledge relating to entrepreneurship, business, and interior design. My real-world experiences prepared me to teach business concepts in a practical yet meaningful way.

On a personal note, I am a homeschool mom of 10 years to two amazing daughters. I recently became a dog mom to an adorable Yorkie Poo named Dallas. When I am not eating potato chips, I enjoy drinking smoothies, spending time in nature, traveling, reading, and playing chess.
