Writing a paragraph does not need to be difficult or boring! Join me in this 5-week class to learn how to write a Personal Narrative paragraph! In each class, learners will follow along with an engaging lesson before they practice the skills they learn. This "building blocks" approach will break down the paragraph writing steps to give learners a formula that they can use in all of their future writing! Week 1: - Learners will learn about personal narrative paragraphs. They will identify strong versus weak paragraphs, and they will practice identifying the important components of the paragraph. Week 2: - Learners will learn how to write effective opening and closing sentences for a personal narrative paragraph. They will be provided with examples of effective and ineffective sentences, and they will practice writing their own from class prompts. Week 3: - Learners will learn how to identify and write the supporting ideas for a class prompt. They will learn how to keep their supporting ideas on the topic, and they will write a paragraph from the class prompt. Week 4: - Learners will choose their own topic and practice using graphic organizers in the brainstorming process. Learners will write the rough draft of their paragraph. Week 5: - Learners will practice using common editing and revising techniques before finalizing their paragraph. Learners are encouraged to send me their graphic organizers, sentences, rough draft, and final copy for feedback and assessments. Grading rubrics can be provided if desired.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Christina, and I'm excited to offer various classes in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, Fitness and Exercise Education, and Dog Training from sunny, beautiful KEY WEST!
I worked as an ESL teacher for three years and, I hold a TESOL Certificate! I will be offering a variety of English grammar and composition courses perfect for all students, including ESL students!
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Behavioral Analysis, graduating magna cum laude. Since my graduation in 2006, I have worked to remain up-to-date and informed on the ever-changing field of Criminal Justice. I create and offer homeschool Forensic Science courses in our community because I'm passionate about the field. I am passionate about teaching students about the vastly different ways to be involved in our criminal justice system and helping dispel the many myths created by the very entertaining crime dramas!
I hold an active nationally accredited personal training certification through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine, and I look forward to educating and helping students learn more about exercise science and consider Personal Training as a career path that they may want to follow!
I strive to give your child a classroom environment that fosters learning and discussion. My classes will include hands-on learning or interaction whenever possible because I believe this is the best way to create a passion for learning! I will guide students in meaningful discussions about what they are learning and how the field can be improved. I love helping students ENJOY learning. I strive to make learning typically "boring" subjects like grammar exciting and fun! We all learn best when we are having fun!
I homeschool my own children, currently 16 and 13 years old. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the spark to learn fostered with my own children and the children I have in my classes. In my free time, I love training my 2.5 year old Great Dane puppy and 4-year-old German Shepherd! We have taught the pups tricks like puppy push-ups, spinning, rolling-over, and many more! I love sharing about my dogs in class, and I typically have pictures or videos to share with my students! In the fall, you will find me cheering on my favorite college football team, the University of Georgia Bulldogs!
