Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Beginner Level
STEP ONE

☼Students are enrolled and get paired with a Literacy Coach.

 STEP TWO

☼Every new "Bookworm" will start by receiving diagnostic reading testing to see what phonics gaps they have. The Literacy Coach will analyze and score testing results to determine where instruction should begin and communicate this with families.

STEP THREE
The literacy coach will:
-Send 2 weekly virtual practice lessons to focus on a specific phonics skill that indicated need on the diagnostic

-Send 2-3 additional practice assignments/games each week that help to reinforce concepts taught that week or to review past concepts

-Monitor student progress and communicate results at the end of the 8 week session to families. These results can be shared with your child's school to help guide their instruction.

☼New content will be uploaded every Monday of the session.

The "Bookworm" and their family will:

-Facilitate & guide the completion of the weekly virtual tutoring & additional practice assignments

☼Students can work at their own pace and have the entire week to do their tutoring assignments

STEP FOUR
Most "bookworms" choose to continue with their coach and renew for the next 8 week session.

Continuing students will not need an initial diagnostic, but the next session starting point will be based on where they scored on their final diagnostic from the previous session
