paper (both white and colored) cardstock or thicker paper scissors glue stick (you can use regular glue, I find glue sticks work best for bookmaking ... but we use what we have!) Pencils, pen, colored pencils, oil pastels, markers, whatever you like to work with chopstick or pencil to bind a book rubber band Optional: Brown paper bag, like from a grocery store (If you are low on paper ... you can also use a brown paper bag to create a book!) Optional: Cardboard (it doesn't have to be super thick or super big, just big enough to be the size of the front of a journal - if we have time, we'll practice wrapping a cover for a book using the cardboard)
