Ever wanted to act but felt nervous? Students will learn to embrace the best them they can be and learn to kick that fear to the side. We will look at what it takes to be a character and build up confidence to go beyond fear and shine in whatever character is put before us. Because in this class, every student is a shining star. Week 1. We will look at what it takes to become a character. We will read and practice small pieces from children's books to allow us to build up confidence to become a great character. Week 2. How to control fear. We will talk about why actors get scared before they go on stage. We will talk about ways we can overcome those feelings. We will come up with ways to shine through our character with impromptu class participation. By doing this, we will learn how to improvise on the spot, and every actor needs to know these skills. Week 3. Learning how to control how we speak and sing to be loud enough that we don't lose our character. Week 4. Learning that you can become any character and being the very best character. In this class, students do not need any musical/acting experience. They just need a love to learn and a love to have fun. We will look at how we can become a shining star in acting and portray the very best in whatever part we are given. *Classes are subject to change.
