Refreshing the Basics will help your young reader become more comfortable with sounding out new words and reading long passages.
Class experience
US Grade 3 - 6
The one-on-one class will focus on helping young readers become comfortable reading multisyllable words. If students are already comfortable with sounding out letters, digraphs, and letter blends, we will start on the different types of syllables and then move to suffixes and prefixes. Since the class is a private class, we will go at the learning pace of the student. I use Google slides to provide definitions and examples while students must take some notes on the information that we have...
The goal of this class is to help students to become comfortable with reading multisyllable words which will help with testing requirements and reading for fun!
I taught English and Language Arts for many years in a public school classroom. For the past several years, I have taught reading to students as young as 3 years old!

There will not often be assigned homework; however, students will need to review their notes over the week to stay informed about the information that has already been covered.Assessments Offered

Students will need a notebook and writing utensil.
