Want to be creative while learning St. Patrick's Day vocabulary and speaking Spanish? Come color, chill, and chat in Spanish with a fun word match and coloring page! First, we'll repeat the new words with a PPT presentation, practice correct pronunciation, and use the new words in sentences. Then, we'll begin the matching and coloring page together in class. While students are coloring, I'll ask each learner a variety of questions and encourage grammatically correct answers in full...
The content students will learn in Spanish include: pot of gold, rainbow, horseshoe, treasure, coin, Leprechaun, hat, and Ireland, along with a question and full sentence answer in Spanish. Learners will practice asking and answering questions in Spanish related to the above sentences to get conversational practice. Some extension may be included in the lesson depending on the number of students, overall student comprehension, etc.
I passed the Spanish Praxis exam required to teach Spanish in my state and taught middle school Spanish for 2 years. I have also formally worked as a Spanish interpreter with a school district for parent-teacher conferences. While I am Hispanic, I am not a native Spanish speaker.
Learners should either finish their coloring page and/or practice saying the words at home. They can upload their coloring page to the discussion board if they'd like!
- The coloring page for that week (posted in the class discussion board) - Coloring tools (colored pencils, markers, gel pens, etc.)
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
