Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 4
Beginner Level
In this class, we explore the idea of color theory.

We begin by learning about the color wheel and our basic primary and secondary colors.
We will introduce the idea of tints and shades. Tints are lighter colors achieved by mixing a color with white. Shades are a darker color achieved by mixing colors with black. Each student will choose their favorite primary/secondary color. Beginning with the student’s favorite color in the middle segment, we will then mix six brand new tints and shades and create our very own color theory caterpillar as a class. We will name and share our caterpillar friends with our friends, if the student chooses.

While there will be structure to this course when learning the topics on hand, there will be time to interact with myself and other students while mixing our colors and painting our caterpillars. The main goal of all of my courses is to inspire students to stretch their creative minds and have fun with art!
