There will be interactive class activities for informal assessments. In-class pair activities are designed to develop each student's 21st century skills such as collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. If you are a home school student who is looking for a formal assignment grades, I will be happy to work with you (but I need to know what is expected). ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Any required experience or knowledge learners need? ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: If the student has learned Japanese for a year, or even self-studied Japanese for a year, should be comfortable in this level.
Learning Goals
Students will strengthen their ability to create with language, converse on familiar topics that are commonly introduced in beginner levels, and build vocabulary and grammar toward intermediate level.

Certified teacher for Japanese (EC-12), Mandarin(EC-12) and Art(EC-12). I grew up speaking Japanese, Mandarin and Taiwanese, so I have no problem mixing them up to meet your need. Many years of freelance tutoring experience for Japanese and Mandarin have helped me teaching all levels of Japanese including Pre-AP and AP classes at my former employment at a public high school.
I am also experienced in curriculum building for 4 years of Japanese language education based on ACTFL proficiency standards as a former school teacher. As I teach more and more students from all over the world, I have become more familiar with CEFR rating as well as GCSE tiers.
I am an active board member of JTAT(Japanese Teacher's Association of Texas) and I host workshop webinars for JTAT members as well as give presentations at foreign language teachers' conferences to offer opportunities to learn new skills, new strategies, and best practices.
