This small group class is designed for learners that have mastered letter names and sounds as well as the Pre-K sight word list. In this 10-week ongoing class, students will learn 52 Kindergarten sight words. Upon completion of this class, students may move on to the first-grade sight word class. Learners will be exposed to 5-6 new sight words each week. Through weekly classes and home practice, they will master the 52 kindergarten sight words.
Weekly extension activities for home practice will be provided. Mastery of sight words takes considerable exposure and repetition so completion of the home practice activities is highly recommended.
Learners will need paper, writing tools or a whiteboard and markers for practicing sight words.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
