We will cover: activities to do with the children, strategies for interacting with children, basic childcare (bedtime routine), being a responsible and professional babysitter so parents will call you again and again. Students will learn tips and tricks for getting children to listen to them, making babysitting fun, and being responsible and professional. They will practice through group discussions and scenarios.
I am an early childhood and elementary school teacher. Prior to teaching, I worked as a camp counselor for many years. I also spent my teen years babysitting!
There will be no homework.
Learners may bring pencils and paper if they wish to take notes.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be assessed based on their participation.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
No parental guidance is needed
