In this multi-day class learners will create an adorable axolotl paper pal using a toilet paper tube! While coloring and cutting, I will sprinkle in axolotl information and trivia questions. Learners will create a paper axolotl while discussing their characteristics and amazing adaptations.
I have been researching and preparing to care for my axolotls for close to 10 years. I am now lucky to share my home with 3 of these amazing amphibians. I'm so excited to share their feeding time with the Outschool community.
There will be no homework, but if a learner would like to work at a slower pace and finish the creation after class they are encouraged to do so.

Learners will be assessed by excitement, participation, and inquiry. We will not have any formal tests, but we will learn, discover, and explore together while checking in for understanding along the way. We will play games, answer questions, and create to demonstrate knowledge.
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Creating paper pal is a fun and engaging activity, but can be difficult for some children. If your child needs support cutting, or using tape to wrap paper around a tube, adults are welcome to provide support as necessary. I just ask that they do so off camera.
