Calling all artists, animal lovers, and anyone who's ever been charmed by a creature with a permanent smile! This workshop is your chance to explore the fascinating world of axolotls, the adorable amphibian with gills that never outgrows its tadpole stage.
Sketch the unique anatomy of an axolotl: We'll start with basic shapes and guidelines to capture their distinctive features, from their feathery gills to their webbed feet.
Master the magic of watercolors: Unleash the vibrant hues of these aquatic wonders using wet-on-wet techniques, layering, and washes.
Bring your axolotl to life: Add personality and details to your creation, from playful expressions to shimmering scales.
No prior experience is necessary! This workshop is open to everyone, from curious beginners to seasoned artists looking to experiment with a new subject. Our experienced instructor will provide guidance and encouragement every step of the way, ensuring you have a blast while creating your own little underwater masterpiece.
~ IMPORTANT~ Be on time for class!
This is a step-by-step lesson, and you need to be on time. If your artist is late for any reason, I will let them in class, and they can participate where we are in the drawing. I will offer your artist the option of doing the complete lesson on the recording after class has finished and the lesson has been uploaded to the cloud.
Watercolor Painting Class Supplies:
See the colors in the class pictures that we will use.
- Paper - "watercolor paper" 9 x 12 (Note this is special paper. Regular paper will tear and a canvas will not absorb)
- Pencil and eraser
- 2 qty - Jars of water
- Paper towels or napkins
- Paintbrushes - Round or flat tip
- Paint - watercolor paints
- Black Permanet Marker
- Drinking Straw
*Note that you must purchase a special paper labeled "Watercolor Paper" and "Watercolor Paints".
*According to Outschool policy, all students need to be registered separately. If they are not, they are to be placed in the waiting room until the parent can make arrangements to register the extra learners or the teacher may refund them. We understand the desire for friends or siblings to watch, but if two children are participating under one registration, they will be sent back to the waiting room per Outschool policy. One child per registration. It is acceptable for registered learners to share a screen!
* I do not offer refunds or transfers 24 hours before class time. I adhere to the Outschool refund and transfer, which states that a class-to-class refund or class-to-class transfer must be made within 24 hours of the class start time.” If you miss the class, you can view the class recording on the classroom page.
