ASL for Advanced is an exciting and interactive class for students who want to learn American Sign Language! During this course children will learn the following signs: - Storytelling - Codeswitching - Describing School Subjects - Lexicon - Advanced Classifiers Skills - Conversations with groups of 3-4 people - Sign Play - Decipher between idiomatic and figurative language. - Adapting between formal and casual registers - Facial Adverbials - Rhetorical Comments - Topicalization - Appropriate Attention-Getting - Summarizations - Explanations - Personal Titles - Fingerspelling practice - Animal fur patterns - Birthday Party Topics - We will also be working on translating, interpreting, conversation skills, Deaf culture, and proper hand placements. This course will be tons of fun!!! If your student already knows 1,000 signs (or more) and is familiar ASL grammar and classifiers, or has taken my previous courses, then this is the class for them! If not, then Part 1 will be a good starting point, this course is called: Learn to Sign in 10 Classes. I am looking forward to learning, laughing, and signing with your children soon!! Class policy: Each student must have a camera on during this so that I can help them with the correct hand-forms and locations, this is an essential part of learning in this course. Student's will also be engaging and practicing their ASL signs with conversations and their hands must be seen for this. If the student does not want their face seen, they may angle the camera to only show their hands.

Parental Guidance
Students will be required to have their cameras on for each lesson. This will allow the students to see each other’s hands while signing.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
