In this one time course students will learn and practice two column summary note taking, a simple way to improve working memory by recording then summarizing ideas shared in class.

Class experience

Students will have the opportunity to try out the two column summary note taking strategy to evaluate if it would be useful to them in an academic setting.
Bridget Smith is a teacher and parent with ADHD. Her focus on Outschool is supporting students with ADHD, other neurodiverse learners, and students with learning differences. She has taught over 1000 learners with ADHD and executive function challenges here on Outschool. She is a credentialed teacher who has taught preschoolers through adult learners. Bridget is credentialed by the State of California to teach K-12 Students.
A two column note taking template, and one page guide to two column note taking will be provided in our classroom and should be printed out if possible. A pen or pencil that the student is comfortable taking notes with is required. We use the online/app based program Kahoot! in this class, but students also have the option to play along in the chat. If your child wishes to participate via Kahoot! they can split screen, open an additional window, or use the Kahoot! app on a different device.
