In this self-paced course, students will learn about the constellations in the night sky, and the stories behind them. The focus will be on animal constellations, not just from Greek mythology, but from mythology around the world! This is a self-paced course, which means there is no live component. Week 1Lesson 1Winter ConstellationsLet's learn about constellations easiest to see in the winter, such as Orion, Lepus, and Taurus.Week 2Lesson 2Circumpolar ConstellationsThe circumpolar constellations are always up in the night sky (for most of the Northern Hemisphere). Let's learn about these important constellations. Ursa Major and Ursa Minor are the most well known of the circumpolar constellations.Week 3Lesson 3Spring ConstellationsThe spring constellations include might warriors like Hercules, silly animals like Corvus the crow, and the very important constellation Virgo - find out why she was so important to the Greeks and the Romans.Week 4Lesson 4Summer ConstellationsLots to explore in the summer sky! This includes Cygnus, Aquila, and Lyra...but there are many more to learn about as well!Week 5Lesson 5Fall ConstellationsWe'll finish with the fall constellations.
