Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
In this once weekly class, "Explore NASA's Space Image of the Day," your learners will explore their curiosity about space and participate in discussion about NASA's Space Image of the Day and NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day.

This class is based on the images that NASA posts for that day. This means classes are dictated weekly due to current events/happenings. Therefore, the topic for each meeting will change, but the format remains the same.

During class, we talk about what we see with NASA's Image of the Day (the image will be shared via my screen for all learners to see). For example: if the image of the day is a picture of a galaxy, I will teach your learners the meaning of the word "galaxy," the name(s) and type of the galaxy, where it's located in the Universe, the gases and elements that make up this galaxy, and more! Your learners are able to share their thoughts on the image, all while having a fun and educational discussion!

Each week, during class, learners are welcome to draw/color the picture of the day. At the end of class, they’re able to share their drawings with the class if they’d like! The drawing activity is completely optional and no one will feel left out if they choose not to participate.

NASA (The National Aeronautics and Space Administration) is a United States federal agency that is in charge of the civilian space program, in addition to aeronautics and space research.

I like to describe my teaching style as "have fun while learning." It's important to stay focused and on task, but if a learner gets bored, they won't learn or remember as much as a learner who is being challenged and having fun. This class is casual and laid back (but still structured), providing a fun environment where your learners will feel comfortable and excited to interact. I am very friendly and fun, and I smile all the time! I guarantee your learner will leave class with a newfound excitement for space!
