Intro We will start with our names and our favorite dinosaurs. Warm-Up: 3D shapes and sculpture vocabulary We will discuss some basic 3D shapes (ex:cylinder, cone, pyramid) and how to make them using sculpture techniques. Sculpture time! Learners will use the basic shapes and sculpture techniques to create their own triceratops dinosaurs. We will use some basic division to divide our clay as well as learn fun dino facts and anatomy while we work. *depending on dexterity level some younger learners might need a little help here and there* Required: model magic air dry clay (I use white but you can choose any color) this can be found on Amazon, craft stores like Michaels or Hobby Lobby (check for coupons!) And I have even seen it in some grocery stores down the school/craft aisle. A toothpick or paperclip Recommended: Plastic knife Foil Markers or paints to add color when done **Although each example will be finished by the end of class, students may want to continue working on their masterpieces after class has ended. Everyone works at a different speed, and it's better to take our time than to rush!

Hello!
I taught art in traditional public schools for 6 years in Texas and started teaching on Outschool in 2021.
I would say my specialty here on outschool is escape rooms.
I love teaching my passions and believe in teaching the whole child. That is why I love throwing in other tidbits of knowledge while working on a project. It also means if you signed up for an escape room with me, it might be under the category of "math" but I can guarantee you will be challenged at a lot more than just math. I like to challenge students to think outside of the box and come up with unique solutions to creative problems.
I also have taught art classes through Michaels Arts and Crafts stores. My favorite moment was when a young lady told me they had a closer store to them, but they drove further to me because, with me, she "actually learned stuff".
Fun and Personal: I love to create and have fun. In my free time, I love to play both board and video games. I am a huge Disney nerd, and represent the Hufflepuff house with pride. I have a sweet seven-year-old daughter and three cats at home.
Currently my personal life is jam packed so I am currently only offering self paced classes.Reviews
