Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Boarwarts Academy for Witches and Wizards. Please find an enclosed a list of all necessary equipment.

Week 1: When you arrive you will be sorted (by a fun quiz) into one of four dormitories. Each dormitory has its own colors and animal.

After being sorted into your dorm, you will then make your own magic wand (by video demonstration).

There will also be dorm pride coloring sheets

Week 2: Next up will be potions class where I will walk you through making a special potion (by video demonstration).

Following potions class is Care and Identification of Magical Creatures.

We will then round the week out with a History of Spells class.

Week 3: After all of your hard work, we will relax by making Butterscotch Brew (by video demonstration) This tasty drink is loved by Boarwarts students.

To round out the week there will be a numberology worksheet (connect the dots).

Week 4: This week starts with a Madlib story of what happened in Transfiguration class.

Now that you have rested and refueled and studied hard- it is time to put all you have learned to the test. Students will enter into an escape room to prove their magic, logic, and critical thinking skills.

(A hints and answers document will be provided, if you need help on the escape room)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a flexible age range class. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses and I work hard to appeal to a wide variety of learning types.

Hello!

I taught art in traditional public schools for 6 years in Texas and started teaching on Outschool in 2021.

I would say my specialty here on outschool is escape rooms.

I love teaching my passions and believe in teaching the whole child. That is why I love throwing in other tidbits of knowledge while working on a project. It also means if you signed up for an escape room with me, it might be under the category of "math" but I can guarantee you will be challenged at a lot more than just math. I like to challenge students to think outside of the box and come up with unique solutions to creative problems.

I also have taught art classes through Michaels Arts and Crafts stores. My favorite moment was when a young lady told me they had a closer store to them, but they drove further to me because, with me, she "actually learned stuff".

Fun and Personal: I love to create and have fun. In my free time, I love to play both board and video games. I am a huge Disney nerd, and represent the Hufflepuff house with pride. I have a sweet seven-year-old daughter and three cats at home.

Currently my personal life is jam packed so I am currently only offering self paced classes.
