Class Experience

In this 5 day class, students will practice adding and subtracting 2 and 3 digit numbers with regrouping. It will be helpful for your learner to have some understanding of the regrouping process. We will talk through the process throughout class, but please note this is not an introductory class to regrouping with addition and subtraction.

We will spend the first few moments of class creating a community by getting to know one another, understanding class expectations, and discussing our learning target.

The lessons will flow through the following structure:
1. Introduction of the skill of the day
2. Teacher model of the skill of the day
3. Class practice with the skill of the day
4. Individual practice of the skill of the day

We'll close our lesson out by checking in with our learning target to ensure students have understood, and students will also do a self reflection on their effort throughout the lesson!

The 5 days will follow the following schedule:
Day 1: 2 Digit Addition and Subtraction with Regrouping
Day 2: Word Problems with 2 Digit Addition and Subtraction
Day 3: 3 Digit Addition with Regrouping
Day 4: 3 Digit Subtraction with Regrouping
Day 5: Word Problems with 3 Digit Addition and Subtraction

Learning Goals

Students will be able to add and subtract 2 and 3 digit numbers.
