Lesson 1: 💰Identifying and Counting Dollars and Coins💰

Students will be introduced to pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, the $1.00 bill, and the $5.00 bill

Students will count by...
- 1's to count pennies and $1.00 bills
- 5's to count nickels and $5.00 bills
- 10's to count dimes
- 25's to count quarters

Lesson 2: 💰Adding Coins Up To $1.00💰

Students will use addition to calculate coin totals up to $1.00.

Students will practice counting by 25's, 10's, 5's, and 1's together.

Lesson 3: 💰Making Change From $1.00💰

Students will make change from $1.00 by using subtraction or by **counting on.

Lesson 4: 💰Adding Dollars and Coins Over $1.00💰

Students will use addition to calculate coin and dollar totals up to $5.00.

Students will practice counting dollars and coins using 100's, 25's, 10's, 5's, and 1's.

Lesson 5: 💰Making Change From Totals Greater Than $1.00💰

Students will use subtraction or **counting on to make change from $2.00, $3.00, $4.00, or $5.00.

**“Counting on” means to start with the item’s price, then count up to the amount paid with to find the difference. For example, if the price of the item is $2.35, and the purchase is being made with $5.00, we will count on from $2.35 to $3.00 to find the difference of 65 cents, and then from $3.00 to $5.00 to find the difference of $2.00 to see the change needed would be $2.65.
