This writing class focuses on tackling whatever writing problems your student may be struggling with. The first tutoring session is a meet and greet. During this time, we will discuss what your student needs to work on writing wise, and together we can create a battle plan to help get their writing skills to wherever they need to be. In the meantime, parents are also welcome to send me a list of writing tasks they would like their student to focus on during each tutoring session. 

I have been in the teaching business for twelve years and earned a Bachelors in education from one of Michigan's most rigorous educational programs (commonly known as Grand Valley State University). I am also dually endorsed in both English Language Arts and Art Education. I have a history of helping students in their reading, writing and English speaking journey since 2011. The endorsement that I hold specializes in grades ranging from middle school up to twelfth grade. 

Homework Offered
All students will be encouraged to come to the next class prepared with examples of what they have learned during our last tutoring session. Doing so will allow students the chance to practice their new writing skills independently, and it will give me an opportunity to assess their new skills.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Assessment will take place through the observation of your student's writing. Each student should come to class with a written example. I will ask them to showcase their work and give them personal feedback. There also may be times where I will use Google Classroom to keep track of your student's progress and writing tasks. 
Grades Offered

I will refer to Google Docs frequently for both editing and feedback purposes. Google Docs has a tool that allows me to comment, highlight and identify pain points in a student's writing. In addition, I may also be using Google Classroom as an organizational tool. Google Classroom is great for helping keep track of student assignments and documentation.
