Homework
1-2 hours per week. All students will be encouraged to come to the next class prepared with examples of what they have learned during our last tutoring session. Doing so will allow students the chance to practice their new writing skills independently, and it will give me an opportunity to assess their new skills.
Assessment
Assessment will take place through the observation of your student's writing. Each student should come to class with a written example. I will ask them to showcase their work and give them personal feedback. There also may be times where I will use Google Classroom to keep track of your student's progress and writing tasks.

Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
This 1:1 writing tutoring session focuses primarily on whatever writing difficulties your student may be dealing with. All writing skill levels are welcome to participate.

Areas of focus may range from improving grammar, deciding what to write, developing a thesis, mapping out entire essays, or even writing a resume. The options here are limitless! You tell me what you need help with, and I will do whatever I can to help you get to wherever you need to be.

Whatever the writing task may entail, each student should come to class with a piece of writing. This type of writing can range from homework to an actual rough draft or an idea of what they want to accomplish during our time together.

**HAVING ACCESS TO AND KNOWING HOW TO USE BOTH GOOGLE DOCS & GOOGLE CLASSROOM WILL BE SUPER BENEFICIAL WHEN TAKING THIS WRITING COURSE ***
Learning Goals
This writing class focuses on tackling whatever writing problems your student may be struggling with. The first tutoring session is a meet and greet. During this time, we will discuss what your student needs to work on writing wise, and together we can create a battle plan to help get their writing skills to wherever they need to be. In the meantime, parents are also welcome to send me a list of writing tasks they would like their student to focus on during each tutoring session.
