Assignments
1-2 hours per week. Due to the short nature of this class, the basic concepts and tools for success will be taught in class under the guidance of the teacher, but the students will be expected to finish their projects outside of class. Working independently outside of class allows students to experiment freely and helps build confidence and trust in their artistic talents and instincts.Class Experience
Beginner - Advanced Level
In this private 1:1 class students will get the opportunity to work with an experienced art educator with over ten years of teaching experience and twenty years of drawing. In this student centered private 1:1 class, students will get the opportunity to both expand upon their talents and build their fine arts portfolio for college. Topics are chosen by the student, along with whatever medium they desire to master. Subject matter and materials will depend strictly on the student's interests and goals, however the following topics are just examples of what I specialize in: SUBJECT MATTER Human body Realistic animals Realistic architecture Principles elements of design College portfolio development Color theory Still Lifes One-point perspective Two-point perspective Three-point perspective Figure drawing MEDIUMS Charcoal Graphite Watercolor Pen + Ink

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
Students are encouraged to bring their ideas and images that they would like to work on to class, doing so will help make the class more meaningful but doing so is not absolutely necessary.

Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from Grand Valley State University
I have gone to school for art education and have obtained my teaching degree via Grand Valley State University and have been certified for art education for grades young five through twelfth grade. I specialize in integrating general curriculum subject matter such as art, English, science, social studies and history into my lesson plans to ensure all students, including the homeschool population, get ample opportunity to meet minimum state standards while learning how to draw and having fun.
