Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 9
Let's read together! In this one-time class, we will work on reading. Specifically, we will work on reading fluency and reading comprehension. I am a relaxed and positive teacher. I like to ask lots of questions and encourage participation from my learners. I believe that finding topics that are important or exciting to the learner makes reading so much more fun! I work hard to find those topics and encourage reluctant readers to become learners that enjoy reading. Please let me know if there is a specific topic that you would like to focus on. We will work together and create a goal for the class. Please feel free to reach out to me to schedule a reading class. We can find a time that works for both of us. I can't wait to meet your learner in the classroom!

🟢Ms. Jodi, B.A. Elem Ed
Hello! My name is Ms. Jodi and I am a passionate elementary educator excited to help your child succeed in an online setting. I have been teaching in an elementary classroom for over 10 years and am a certified teacher.
Through my experience, I have developed a wide array of skills used to tailor instruction to individual student needs and believe every learner is unique with strengths to build upon. Along with distinctive skills, I have been trained extensively in reading and writing areas, including the science of reading, phonics, and comprehension.
Learning is about connections...to our world and to each other. Exploration should take place at every corner and every lesson, while learners feel welcomed and nurtured to reach their potential and more importantly....enjoy the process.
Lastly, I always believe a little magic is involved in every moment of learning. It is the true job of a teacher to create the magical mix of tools a student needs in that moment to be successful.
🟢Miss Erika
🌟 Hello, Lovely People! 🌟
My name is Miss Erika, and I’m thrilled to meet you! I’ve been teaching for 17 amazing years and hold a bachelor’s degree in English Secondary Education and Linguistically Diverse Education, along with a master’s in Educational Leadership and a Principal’s License. But more importantly, I believe that education should be as unique as each learner. Learning isn’t one-size-fits-all—it should be fun, exciting, and full of discovery!
For the past 7 years, I’ve been homeschooling my children, which has been its own incredible adventure. We also have a lively household of furry, scaly, and shelled friends, including 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, a tortoise, a White's tree frog, and a bearded dragon! 🐾🐢🐸
Let’s make learning an unforgettable adventure together!

I received my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from National Louis University in Chicago, Illinois, and have experience in various roles as an educator. I was a classroom teacher in upper elementary and middle school for five years, and I also served as a Title I facilitator/instructional coach. In this role, I had the opportunity to plan with and coach teachers from all grade levels and develop a well-rounded understanding of K-8 curriculum and interventions in core subjects. I currently assist part-time with online classes for a local university. I enjoy helping students and teachers become lifelong learners!
I also have two children of my own. We love to be outdoors and explore different areas of our city when we can!
