Welcome to 1-on-1 Individualized Reading Tutoring with Miss Janette!  Led by an experienced preschool and kindergarten teacher and reading interventionist, this program is tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual student, focusing on essential reading skills such as phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and more. My aim is to foster a love for reading while helping children develop strong foundational skills that will support their academic success.

Course Highlights:

Personalized Approach: I recognize that every child is unique and possesses varying abilities and learning styles. I will conduct an initial assessment to identify each student's strengths and areas that need improvement. This assessment will guide the development of an individualized learning plan for each student.

Comprehensive Curriculum: The curriculum combines a variety of effective materials and strategies to cater to the diverse needs of young readers. Phonics instruction forms the foundation, enabling students to understand the relationships between letters and sounds. Vocabulary expansion activities will enhance their word knowledge, while targeted comprehension exercises will sharpen their understanding of text.

Engaging Instruction: To keep students actively engaged and excited about learning, I will employ interactive teaching methods. I use a mix of visual aids, hands-on activities, games, and technology-based resources to make learning enjoyable and effective. My goal is to create a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters confidence and encourages participation.

Progress Monitoring: Throughout the program, I will continually assess the student's progress. Regular check-ins and assessments will enable us to track growth, identify areas needing additional focus, and make any necessary adjustments to the individualized learning plan. Progress reports will be shared with parents or guardians to keep them informed about their child's development.

Cultivating a Love for Reading: Beyond the acquisition of essential reading skills, this class strives to ignite a passion for reading. I incorporate age-appropriate, captivating literature into the lessons, nurturing a joy for stories and expanding students' imaginations.
