Beginner Level
This reading practice session focuses on the application of phonics knowledge to decoding. The learner will first be assessed to determine where they are at on the phonics sequence and scope. After the targeted phonic knowledge is identified, plenty of opportunities for students to read words, sentences, and passages will be provided to aim for mastery and automaticity. Mastery and automaticity are the keys to reading fluency. Questions will be discussed before, during, and after reading to build reading comprehension.

Hi there, I am a certified teacher here in British Columbia, Canada. As a reading specialist, I have 6 years of experience teaching reading and writing to Kindergarten and Grade 1 learners. I specialize in phonics and reading instructions. During my 6 years of teaching reading, I have helped many students develop their foundational phonics knowledge and reading skills. I am very passionate about teaching young kids how to read. Reading opens the door to endless possibilities, learning, and fun they can get from books. What I do is to give them the key and show them how to use it. I also recognize that every child is different, so I aim to individualize my approach to make it more accessible to each learner.
I am also a studio-trained dancer. I have been trained in many different styles, including Jazzfunk, Hip-hop, and Waccking. I have been doing K-pop Covers for the past 4 years. I have taught dance to young kids both in my schools and in local dance studios.
When I am not teaching, I am cooking, playing video games, hanging out with my cat, and dancing with my friends.
