Homework
1 hour per week. Students will be given self-grading assignments to reinforce the skills that we went over in our session. I do ask that it is turned in before the next session so that I know if I need to remediate that skill.

Class Experience

US Grade 3
Students will be going over 3rd grade math skills such as multiplying/dividing, fractions, elapsed time, rounding, and 3 digit addition/subtraction with regrouping that will be covered on their upcoming standardized test.

I use a lot of hands-on techniques to engage my learners, as well as strategies that will prove beneficial to them.

My teaching style is a little silly. We do a lot of jingles, silly ways to remember things, and play a lot of games to reinforce what we have learned.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Kahoot, Quizlet, and Quizizz will be used at times to practice the skills we are learning. Accounts are not needed for these as I would just share the link with students to access using my specific game code.

I plan to teach a variety of enrichment classes such as Newswriting, Yoga, and Baking. On top of that, I’ll be offering 1-1 tutoring as well as small class ELA groups in grades K-7.

I was a certified teacher for the past 11 years teaching from grades K-8th. On the side, I’ve also taught kids yoga. Currently, I’m a reading interventionist for grades 1st-12th at an alternative day school.

My teaching philosophy is that everyone can learn. It just might look different and the goals achieved another way. I will do whatever I can to help my students feel confident and comfortable to make mistakes and ask for help.

I’m a Mama of 12 ! Just kidding: 4 of those are my fur babies (3 cats, a dog, and chickens). My family and I absolutely love the beach and would move there in a heartbeat. I’m an avid reader and will often be caught up at 3am trying to finish a good book; although, I will suffer for it later when I can’t kept my eyes open.
