To show your child's progress, assessments will be given at times during sessions. This will also guide my instruction of how best to help your child.Class Experience
US Grade 3
This will be a test prep boot camp in order to prepare your child for the upcoming standardized reading test that they will be expected to take. With this, students will be given test taking strategies and going over necessary skills that they will need to know. Skills such as: summarizing, main idea, inferencing/drawing conclusions/, and text evidence questions. This will be given in a variety of modes such as nonfiction texts, short stories, poems, and even Youtube shorts. To keep students engaged we will have a lot of discussions, games, and partner work so that students can practice and apply the skills we are going over.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to apply test taking strategies on their upcoming reading standardized test. They will be able to accurately summarize, identify the main idea/details of a text, use text evidence, as well as draw conclusions about a given text.Other Details
Parental Guidance
Kahoot, Quizlet, and Quizizz will be used at times to practice the skills we are learning. Accounts are not needed for these as I would just share the link with students to access using my specific game code.
