Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
Creative Expression in Tapestry Weaving is all about the art of tapestry. It is an art form that includes color, shape and texture and and is a form of art that has wonderful creative possibilities.

This is a class you can choose to take as a 1 time session or multiple times as it will be customized to each learner. I will introduce the art of tapestry to a beginner or continue the learning for an advanced weaver. Since these are 1-1 classes the content will be individualized.

My teaching style is best described as structured freedom where I take the approach of encouraging learners to imagine, explore and discover as they learn. I will teach how to bring ideas to life on the loom as we build a tapestry toolkit of techniques and experience the creative process, which is different for each learner.

The class is designed to begin where the learner is in their weaving skills and ideas and build from there. For advanced learners I'll be introducing them to new techniques as I build on the ones they may already know.

Content is designed per learner but the following are possible topics/techniques that may be included.
